What Makes Hata Different from Other Crypto Exchanges in Malaysia?

Choosing a crypto exchange is not only about finding a place to buy and store Bitcoin. Trading fees, regulation, available assets, payment options, platform features and security can all affect how easily you manage your crypto.

Hata brings these elements together in one Malaysian-built platform.

From competitive trading fees and direct MYR transactions to Shariah-compliant operations and different ways to buy, trade and stake crypto.

Here’s what makes Hata different.

1. Lowest Trading Fees, Including 0% Maker Fees

Trading fees may appear small, but they can add up—especially for users who trade regularly.

On Hata Malaysia, users enjoy 0% maker fees across all Exchange trading pairs, regardless of their trading volume.

A maker order is an order that does not execute immediately and instead adds liquidity to the order book, such as certain limit orders. When an order is completed as a maker order, no maker fee is charged.

Hata also waives the convenience fee for FPX deposits of RM500 and above in a single transaction. This means the full deposit amount will be credited to the user’s Hata account without any FPX deposit fee deductions.

2. Built in Malaysia, Dual-Licensed and Regulated

Hata is a proudly Malaysian-built crypto platform designed to make digital assets more accessible to local users.

Hata operates under two regulatory licences. Hata Malaysia is regulated by the Securities Commission Malaysia, while Hata’s Labuan operation is regulated by the Labuan Financial Services Authority. This makes Hata the only dual-licensed digital asset platform in Malaysia.

3. A Growing Selection of Digital Assets

Crypto has grown far beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Through Hata Markets, users can explore a growing range of assets, including Shariah-compliant cryptocurrencies and tokens related to decentralised finance, blockchain infrastructure, artificial intelligence, exchanges, meme communities and more.

As listings may change over time, users can refer to the Hata Markets page or app for the latest selection of supported cryptocurrencies.

4. Shariah-Compliant Trading

Hata’s platform structure and operating mechanisms have been reviewed and endorsed by Amanie Advisors, Hata’s appointed Shariah adviser. The framework covers areas including how trades are executed, how assets are held, staking rewards, applicable fees and selected reward programmes.

Hata’s Shariah-compliance certification is issued by Amanie Advisors and is not endorsed by the Securities Commission Malaysia.

5. Deposit and Withdraw Instantly in MYR

Hata Malaysia allows users to fund their accounts directly in Malaysian Ringgit using supported local payment methods. Available deposit methods include online bank transfers through FPX and supported e-wallets, subject to applicable limits and fees.

Users can withdraw MYR directly to a Malaysian bank account through Instant Transfer. Withdrawals are designed to be processed within seconds, although processing times may vary and applicable fees and limits may apply.

6. Different Ways to Buy, Trade and Manage Crypto

Not every user approaches crypto in the same way. Some may want to make a simple purchase, while others may prefer to use an order book, automate recurring purchases or stake supported assets.

Hata offers several options within the same platform.

Instant Buy/Sell

Instant Buy/Sell provides a straightforward way to buy or sell supported cryptocurrencies without placing an order on the Exchange.

Spot Exchange

Users can access an order book, select their preferred trading pair and place market or limit orders. Orders that qualify as maker orders can benefit from Hata’s 0% maker-fee structure.

Auto-Invest with Card

Auto-Invest allows users to schedule recurring cryptocurrency purchases instead of placing each transaction manually.

Plans can start from RM30, and users can select their preferred cryptocurrency, purchase frequency and supported payment method.

Auto-Invest does not remove the risks associated with market volatility, but it provides a more consistent and automated way to make recurring purchases.

Staking

Hata Staking allows users to commit supported cryptocurrencies for a selected period and receive staking rewards generated on-chain.

SOL is currently available for staking on Hata, with locking periods ranging from 14 to 90 days. At the end of the staking period, users receive their staked amount together with the rewards earned, subject to the applicable terms.

7. Your Security, Our Top Priority

At Hata, security is our foundation. We fuse institutional-grade protection with full regulatory compliance to safeguard your assets and data, ensuring you can invest with total confidence.

These include multi-factor authentication, passkey authentication, real-time account notifications and 24-hour monitoring for suspicious activity. Customer funds are also kept separate from Hata’s company accounts.

Users should also take precautions by using a strong password, keeping their account details secure and staying alert to scams and phishing attempts.

One Platform, More Ways to Explore Crypto

What differentiates Hata is not one feature alone.

Hata combines low Exchange trading fees, local regulation, direct MYR access, a growing selection of digital assets, Shariah-compliant operations, automated investing, staking and layered security within one Malaysian-built platform.

Whether you are making your first crypto purchase, placing trades through the Spot Exchange or setting up a recurring Auto-Invest plan, Hata provides different ways to access and manage digital assets according to your needs.
