Get to Know the Role

We are seeking to hire an Assistant Finance Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and support financial reporting within a regulated digital asset exchange environment. This role ensures the accuracy of fiat and digital asset reconciliations, supports the month-end closing process, and maintains audit-ready financial records to meet the requirements of the Recognised Market Operator (RMO) framework under the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, the role also supports regulatory reporting, audit coordination, and process improvements to ensure efficient and compliant financial operations.

Day-to-Day Activities

1. Month-End Closing

• Lead the monthly closing process including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.

• Prepare financial schedules and support management reporting.

2. Regulatory & Audit Support

• Assist in preparing regulatory financial returns for relevant authorities and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit schedules including bank reconciliations, digital asset holdings, and fixed assets.

3. Tax & Compliance

• Support the preparation and submission of SST filings and corporate tax computations in compliance with Malaysian tax regulations.

The Must-Have:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.

• Prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm is strongly preferred.

• Experience working in fintech, financial services, brokerage, or other high-transaction environments is an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of financial reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial reporting processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, financial analysis, reconciliation).

• Basic understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), particularly relating to financial instruments.

• Familiarity with digital assets, blockchain transactions, or fintech operations is an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Professional certification or in progress, such as ACCA, CPA, or MIA, is preferred.
